Existing Conditions Plan Landscaping Plan
This project is to provide design services for an 18.000 GSF addition to the existing 15,000 GSF library. The main landscape goals for this project are to improve spatial quality of pedestrian space, to ensure that the proposed amenity space be part of the campus open space system, to relate the outdoor space with the building, visually and spatially, to provide pedestrian linkage to other parts of the campus, to enhance pedestrian friendliness, to provide landscape treatments that are cost-effective to maintain, as well as to ensure the ADA compliance.
The design elements include entrance plaza, seating area at the Performing Arts Center, landscaped berm along west side of the building, permeable paving path, landscape infiltration areas in the south of the building to perform stormwater quality management function meeting MDE ESD requirements, tree-lined path on both east and west sides of the building and a green roof on top of the addition.
